Sim Rules

The Following rules are in place to protect you, our community, ignorance of these rules is not a excuse for breaking them. No one not even staff nor the owner is immune from the consequences of breaking the rules.

OOC Observers are permitted with OOC Tag Provided automatically when passing through the IC Portal during this time, please respect any ongoing roleplay by observing in silence and do not remove the OOC TAG

Three Strike System
The three strike system is for handling repeated major rule breaks.
Minor Offences will be handled on a case by case basis.

Those who become a constant firestarter or make nuisance of themselves on a OOC Level will be removed from sim at the discretion of the owner.

First Offence

First major offence, we will simply educate, and moderate if needed and move on.

We're only human, it happens.

Second Offence

Your second major offence. A reminder and warning will be issued. Moderation applied if needed.

Final Offence

A final offence comes after another repeated major rule break, and will earn a final warning. After which the next step will be temp ban or permanent depending on the severity of the offences on record.

Getting Started

While this is a server that encourages newer players to learn the ropes of RP, this is still a Roleplay server.

  • You must be In-Character at all times while on the server, the exception to that being your private rental, the ooc area or the landing zone.

  • OOC Chatter, while in your private rental, should be kept to direct private messages.

  • " Etharis: Rebornis rated as a adult region even though our roleplay focus is not focused on such content. That being said no children. All players and avatars must appear 18 years or older.

  • Flying is allowed as long as your character has wings.  Hovering at a constant level ( ie hovers instead of walks because is a spector), no vertical gain is fine.

  • Magic and Dash Huds should be kept to a minimum and must make sense for your character if they are used to enhance rp. Just because a hud has something doesn't mean it makes sense to use it.

Code of Conduct (major)

Disrespect toward the community, and more importantly toward any member of the community (staff or player) is considered a bannable offense. Length of the ban can be temporary or permanent.  We are all adults lets treat each other with respect. Roleplay is consensual if you do not wish to interact with someone excuse yourself and move on.

Disrespect includes, but is not limited to:

  • Talking bad about other players RP or skill level
(even on other mediums like Twitch, other Discords, etc.)

  • Harassing another player OOC for decisions made IC

  • Demanding something from another person OOC

  • Resurgence has ZERO Tolerance Policy  for the following, Sexism, Racism, Homophobia, Other Prejudices are strictly disallowed out-of-character and should never be use IC  as a OOC Jab. You don't have to like everyone but you also do not have to voice it.

In Character Actions = In Character Consequences

Avoiding the consequences of your actions is a 2 point offence.

It is never ok to be the villain, or commit offences against others but hide from from the storm that follows be it by rerolling, leaving sim, or simply shelving a character

If you need assistance or have questions, please send a Notecard to the owner.

Guidelines

Meta-Gaming (major)

Information obtained outside the game (OOC) must never be used in active roleplay. This includes Discord calls or messages, OOC chats, private messages, anything not said, seen, or written in open chat on sim, and even using a the overhead display to identify someone’s name, faction, faction, rank, and in some cases species. All of these are considered metagaming.

Some information on a over head display may be IC , Players may list additional information about their character, listed visual traits auditory or other sense based in information may be used IC-

Metagaming also covers information not provided through another player’s roleplay, such as scent. If you do not recognize someone or they are disguised, you must use roleplay to determine their identity and you may not add details to another's characters that they did not provide (like scent)

Power-Gaming | God-modding (major)

Power-gaming is the abuse of mechanics or roleplay concepts to give your character an unfair advantage they would not normally have. The term is often used interchangeably with god-modding.

It also includes taking choice away from another character. Any action performed on another player must always be written as an attempt, not an automatic success. Example: /me attempts to grab the boy by the neck. — you cannot simply state that you grabbed them.

Character Survival & Consequences vs. Limits

A Right to Life exists to prevent arbitrary or unjustified character death. A character should only be killed when there is clear narrative justification and the act genuinely serves the story. Monsters are the only exception, as their flaw alone determines when they lose their right to life—though their player may still choose death voluntarily at any time.

But, at the same time should our character behave in the way listed below just to name few, don't expect your RP limits to save you.  Much like in DnD character death can happen it is the nature of the game and the setting. With that being said, let us continue.

Characters are expected to treat their lives with the same caution they would in reality. Actions that ignore danger or basic survival instinct should only occur when they genuinely reflect the character’s nature. No one is untouchable—risk and consequence are part of the world.

Death is usually optional for players, but it remains a natural part of life in Etharis. And those who are a non-monster have additional option at death and that is to become a Spector. The setting is harsh, and characters are not insulated from danger. While players may choose whether their character dies, the story may still lead to moments where death is an appropriate and meaningful outcome. Injuries, setbacks, and recovery roleplay are always required when they make sense for the scene. These moments add depth and help shape long‑term storytelling.

Killing another person's character is a serious action. Even when justified, it may create new risks for your own character, especially from those who were close to the victim.

Violence invites consequence.

Before deciding that killing another character is warranted, consider whether they have:

  • Continued a feud after repeated defeat

  • Attempted lethal harm repeatedly

  • Committed an act reasonably punishable by death

  • Provoked execution while detained

  • Returned to hostile territory after being expelled

  • Ordered, commissioned, or accepted a killing

  • Falsely claimed noble identity

  • Attempted or encouraged mass killing

  • Taken a life

Also consider whether your character has:

  • A personal tie to the victims

  • Legal or social authority to enforce capital punishment

  • A meaningful stake in seeing justice or vengeance carried out

Lethal intent should preferably be declared at the start of combat through roleplay means.

A defending character can always choose to attempt to flee, that is why the option is there.

KOS (Kill on Sight): Direct KOS is not allowed. Aggressive roleplay must be portrayed before hostile dice combat, especially for thieves, hunters, and outlaws. Exception: Active war or raid zones are open KOS areas. Entering such zones makes you a valid target.

Captives & Hostages: Without OOC agreement, captives may only be held for 20 minutes without active roleplay before release or escape must occur. No player may be held longer than 48 hours unless all parties agree

Resurrection Roleplay

Resurrection Roleplay, while possible comes with a price and would require a resurrection pact made in advance with a powerful entity, the price of such a pact, should be costly to your character in the long run.

Open a Ticket via discord to see if it can logically be arranged, do not retire your character until a verdict is made it cannot be recovered, if you do.

Re-rolling a New Character

Rerolling means a complete reset—you give up all progress, titles, and storylines to start fresh. Shelving a character purely to avoid roleplay consequences is considered avoidance and may be treated as such. New characters cannot know anything about the actions or experiences of previous ones, even if related.

Alternate Accounts and Characters

Players may maintain more than one character at a time, but each must be portrayed as a completely distinct identity. This means different appearances, names, and background information are required, and each character must belong to a different factions or no faction. Characters created under the same player cannot share knowledge of one another or interact with each other. This separation ensures variety, fairness, and immersion across the roster.

ALT Accounts are allowed within reason. Please limit to one,  2 accounts = 6 Characters,

Rentals

Rental homes are designated safe zones save for during the blood hour (Monsters must RP breaking in, someone must be home you may not break in for funsies) or to vampires that they have previously invited into their home (see vampire flaws).

Players pay real L$ to rent these spaces and have the right to safety within them at least the vast majority of the time. Renting a home does not grant permission to rez objects outside of your rental, even if you are under your rez limit. Temporary rezzing is acceptable only if cleaned up at the end of a scene.

Rentals may not be entered without the renter’s permission, except for those that double as IC businesses and  under certain conditions explained above. Objects must never be rezzed inside another rental without explicit permission, as they count against that renter’s land impact allotment.

Manor Houses are locked family residences and may only be rented by request when housing 4 or more active tenants. Alts do not count, honesty is expected as manors houses are very limited due to size.

By Renting here you agree to the following:

  • Adhere to Linden Labs TOS

  • Adhere to Server Rules at all times

  • BE ACTIVE, this means out and about more than standing afk in a rental. Rentals are for available for active community members we are not a residential sim, renting is not a right it is a privilege.

  • Rentals are 2$L per 1 Li

  • You may not sublet for L$ but you may allow others sim members to live at your property for free.

✔ Guests are expected to adhere to server rules as well a Linden Labs ToS

  • Refunds are made at server owner's discretion but rent is plunged directly into the Sim Tier and thus refunds are unlikely,

  • No breedables

  • No animesh pets are permitted in excess. 1 is acceptable

  • No OOC Chatter in local chat.

  • No Dancers/Clickers/Music (unless in scene.)

  • No gestures on the roleplay floor.

  • No high scripted furniture:
    Example: Anything above 1500Memory

All objects found to exceed your allowed land impact will be returned, without warning. Resurgence is not responsible for any no copy or lost items due to returning of objects for exceeding land impact, or eviction due to your rental being overdue.
