Combat Rules
Combat in Resurgence is a turn-based D20 system automated by GP HUD
-
Keep a post order. Everyone involved in the combat gets to post before you post again. When it is your turn, that is when you address any dice outcomes.
-
Only one action (attack, disengage, etc) and reaction (defense or damage) may be made per post.
-
All attacks are attempts the outcome determined by the roll of the dice.
-
The dice is not a flat roll but instead are accompanied by a bonus based on selected species and where you placed your attribute points. So consider it carefully.
-
Lastly, the hud will tell you who wins a interaction and will apply damage, for narrative sake, if you wish to take a hit anyway, using "Take Hit" option.
Roll Types
The combat structure uses actions to govern how much you can do at one time. You can take only one action at a time.
Actions can come up in other situations, too, for example: in a social interaction, you can try to Influence a creature or use the Search action to read the creature’s body language, but you can’t do both at the same time.

If a rolls has a direct counter listed in its description it will auto roll that dice, no addition rolls needed.
It should be noted that, Attack and Reengage, both do damage, so defending players should consider their actions carefully. Is it wiser to fight back? To Flee? or simply lay down and concede. Everyone will have different combination of stats so you may hold better chances against one person compared to another.
